베트남이 7일(현지시간) 프랑스의 베트남 식민 통치를 사실상 끝장낸 ‘디엔비엔푸 전투’ 승전 70주년을 맞아 대규모 군사 행진 등 성대한 기념행사를 열었다.
특히 70년 전의 적이었던 프랑스 정부 장관을 기념식에 처음으로 초대, 과거를 뒤로 하고 프랑스와 화해·협력하려는 모습을 보여 눈길을 끌었다.
AFP·로이터·베트남뉴스통신(VNA) 등에 따르면 이날 베트남 서북부 디엔비엔성 디엔비엔푸의 경기장에서 주민과 여행객 등 관중 1만2천여명이 모인 가운데 70주년 기념식이 약 2시간 동안 열렸다.
행사에는 팜 민 찐 베트남 총리와 농 득 마인 전 공산당 서기장(재임 2001∼2011년) 등 베트남 전·현직 당·정부 지도부 인사들이 총출동했다.
또 중국 장칭웨이 전국인민대표대회(전인대) 상무위 부위원장을 비롯해 캄보디아, 라오스 등지에서도 고위급 인사들이 자리했다.
특히 세바스티앙 르코르뉘 프랑스 국방장관이 베트남 정부 초청으로 프랑스 장관으로는 기념식에 처음 참석했다.
